Adam Has Record Deal for Fall Album

Posted in Uncategorized on June 11th, 2009 by admin – 15 Comments

adam-lambert-rolling-stoneUpdate: Adam’s upcoming CD is available for preorders here on Amazon.com for $9.99! It will be released November 24.

In the new Rolling Stone that hit the stands yesterday, Adam Lambert announced that he has signed a deal for his debut album with 19 Entertainment and RCA. (He has referred to this album since May, just didn’t officially confirm the signed deal until this week).

Remember, he already has studio recordings done during American Idol on iTunes. (To download an mp3 by Adam or another favorite artist, click and search by name! Works for Mac or PC. The first time you visit, you download iTunes–after that, it’s automatic.)

One great new tidbit of information–the album is scheduled for FALL release, whereas before he had only mentioned a 2009 release! Prior to the release of the album, all of his recordings from American Idol (along with Kris Allen’s and actually any singer) can be downloaded from iTunes.

He wants a lot of input on the songs, as he has stressed from the beginning, perhaps in response to rumors that 19 Entertainment has been heavy-handed with other American Idol contestants who have signed on to develop music with the company.

Also in this edition, Lambert confirmed once and for all that he is gay–though we have all known that even longer than we’ve known about the upcoming album!

Lambert Describes Upcoming Album

Posted in Uncategorized on May 28th, 2009 by admin – 3 Comments

adam-lambert-record-deal

During a press conference call with E!Online, Adam Lambert offered details about his talks with 19 Entertainment on an upcoming album. The  description was specific enough to give his fans an idea of the style of music and message the CD might entail.

Fans who simply can’t wait for his album can download all of Lambert’s studio recordings thus far on iTunes. (Just click the link and search for Adam Lambert–or any other artist you like for quick mp3 downloads! Works for Mac or PC.)

The music he describes as “all about fusion” with elements of rock, pop, electric, and glam. The lyrics will offer hope about difficult times and inspiration to be true to oneself. He says, ”My record will be kind of a rock-pop-electronic-dance thing,” he said. “I don’t know how to describe it. I think it’s gonna take on a life of its own, as far as genre goes.”

The company 19 Entertainmnet has a history of taking the lead on breakout Idol artists’ debut albums, even when singers prefer to have more input. However, Lambert aims to co-write much of the material.

“There’s a way to take the glam rock of the ’70s and the classic rock of the ’70s and kind of modernize it. … I want it to be produced in a very very current, almost futuristic, way. So we’re going to come up with something really fresh,” he said adding that the songs will have a sexy dance vibe.”

He wants to include songs that “appeal to people that are going through a hard time or don’t believe in themselves.” This description recalls Lambert’s own description of life shortly before his run on American Idol. In a video released during the competition, Lambert explained that he realized that something was missing in his life. He said, “I thought, ‘Is this it? Is this my life?’” It was shortly after that when fellow cast members of “Wicked” talked the young start into trying out for American Idol.

He mentions that he wants his music to convey the liberation of “being comfortable in your own skin and that is being your own person.” He hopes his album conveys what he describes as “the spirit of being different, and how strong that can make you feel.”

Adam is the Runner Up!

adam-2nd-place-idol

Adam REALLY showed his true colors tonight as the American Idol Season 8 runner up. A few observations that made me adore Adam even more than before:

  1. He looked SO genuinely happy for Kris.
  2. He did NOT look shocked that he lost. That’s humble somehow.
  3. When he sang “We Are the Champions,” his voice sounded hotter than I ever remember hearing before. Considering that his voice always sounds hot, that’s a pretty impressive level of hotness.

Kris also really showed his colors. What TALENTED singers. But also, good guys! The two of them really deserved to be in first and second place! I LOVE it when things turn out fairly! This season kicked some very serious Idol behind.

If you like iTunes, get a Kris Allen iTunes Pass ($18.99) for an instant download of “No Boundaries,” and later, video performances from the 50-city Idol summer tour, the 1st single and video from the album before it’s released, the album itself with special artwork, a special iTunes-only video holiday greeting at the end of the year, and more!

PS. One other person who showed a lot of hotness–Kara. Woman, why didn’t you sing on the show before now? That was so impressive–and I’m talking about her voice, not the bikini–though her abs idid rock, and it made me pretty jealous.

Adam Sings We Are the Champions

lambert-champions-mp3

Great, great performance of “We Are the Champions” by Adam Lambert and Kris Allen. See if iTunes still has the episode posted here–during the American Idol run, they post all performances for free during that week. Songs are then available for download for a fee (but not ALL songs due to licensing agreements).

Kris did a fantastic job, but really, Adam’s voice during that performance was just…insanely awesome.

He admittedly got slightly overly screamy during the last two shows–but tonight, he was so back on track. Oh, he screamed alright, but it was back to the way he performed “Can’t Get No Satisfaction”–just super vocals, sounding totally sexy, and doing justice to an awesome song.

Lamber Top 2 Idol Songs!

Posted in Uncategorized on May 19th, 2009 by admin – 5 Comments

Adam and KrisAdam Lambert’s Top 2 May 19 songs went exceedingly well! Kris Allen is not by any means an easy opponent to beat. He did appear to win round one–but in the end, it seems that Adam performed better overall. The votes will show! Here are the songs Adam and Kris performed–

(See them for free here on iTunes. After Season 8 of American Idol is over, users will be able to purchase studio recordings of the songs for around $0 .99. For Mac and PC–also studio versions are available for purchase if you like them!)

Adam Lambert’s songs:

  • Personal Choice – “Mad World” (Tears for Fears)
  • Simon Fuller’s Choice – “A Change is Gonna Come” (Patti LaBelle and Sam Cooke)
  • Winner’s Song – “No Boundaries” (Kara Di Guardo)

Kris Allen sang these songs:

  • Personal Choice – “Ain’t No Sunshine” (Bill Withers)
  • Simon Fuller’s Choice – “What’s Goin’ One” (Marvin Gaye)
  • Winner’s Song – “No Boundaries” (Kara Di Guardo)

May 19 Adam Lambert Songs

Posted in Uncategorized on May 12th, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

may-19-adam-lambertTonight’s May 19 Idol episode showed Adam Lambert visiting his hometown, as did competitors Kris Allen and Danny Gokey. This time, each finalist performed two songs–the Idol contestants chose one, and a judge chose the other. Below are 1) judge choices and 2) personal choices.

(You can get them here on iTunes. You can also buy the the studio versions–or any other song for PC or Mac here).

Adam Lambert:
1) “One” (U2)
2) “Cryin’” (Aerosmith)

Danny Gokey:
1) “Dance Little Sister”
(Terrance Trent D’arby)
2) “You Are So Beautiful” (Joe Cocker)

Kris Allen:
1)
“Apologize” (One Republic)
2)
“Heartless” (Kanye West)

They all performed their personal choices beautifully, but as for judge’s choice, Adam left the other two contestants far, far behind. He’s the obvious winner tonight!

Adam Lambert Whole Lotta Love

Posted in Uncategorized on May 5th, 2009 by admin – 1 Comment

lambert-whole-lotta-love

Adam sang “Whole Lotta Love” on American Idol tonight (May 5). If last week’s performance was ever so slightly too theater-like, this one sure made up for it! He’s a rock king. That’s all I can say.

You can hear the tracks here on iTunes. (After this week, they will still be available for purchase at a low price–under $1.) If you like them, you can buy the the studio versions–or any other song for that matter!  (iTunes works for PC and Mac).

Here’s what the judges said:
Randy said that Adam is a rockstar, and he could make a record with Slash. Kara said Adam’s a rock “god.” Paula said Adam is a “whole lotta perfect.” Finally, Simon said this was one of his favorite performances by Adam, and that no one can top it! Rare high praise from Simon…definitely noteworthy!

Adam Lambert sings “Feeling Good”!

Adam Lambert Idol Audition

Adam Lambert Idol Audition

Adam Lambert sang “Feeling Good” on the April 28 American Idol episode. It was one of the best performances of the night!

You can download his performances here on iTunes. You can buy the the studio versions of Adam’s tracks and the other contestants’ too.

This one is more in line with his theatrical experience–I like the rock and pop stuff better, but anything he sings sounds great. (The above photo is from Lambert’s Idol audition–which also sounded very theatrical.)
