Lambert’s Ring of Fire

Lambert performed one freaky bizarre rendition of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire.” Very weird (in a hot way, I mean). Adam has an uncanny way of making a song sound totally different from the original version, yet similar enough to recognize the best parts. It was hilarious to watch country legend Randy Travis react to Adam’s interpretation of the song, and Adam in general. Randy said with a perplexed look on his face, “I never heard Johnny Cash sung quite like that…” and then something about how he’d never met a man who wears black fingernail polish! Too funny.

Cara’s assessment of the performance was also funny–”It was really bizarre…but I kind of liked it.” Ha ha! I’m not sure I liked the way the song sounded–it was very original. But I sure liked watching Adam sing it!

I’m a huge Adam fan, but that performance was really weird.
I hope he’ll go back to more songs like “Satisfaction.”
Liked it. Johnny Cash did it better, but pretty cool overall.
I think even though this was a strange rendition of Ring of Fire, it showed yet another side of Adam and his talent and versatility. He was able to take a traditional country song and give it a rock twist.
How unique. I think even Johnny Cash would have approved of it.
