Lambert Describes Upcoming Album

During a press conference call with E!Online, Adam Lambert offered details about his talks with 19 Entertainment on an upcoming album. The description was specific enough to give his fans an idea of the style of music and message the CD might entail.
Fans who simply can’t wait for his album can download all of Lambert’s studio recordings thus far on iTunes. (Just click the link and search for Adam Lambert–or any other artist you like for quick mp3 downloads! Works for Mac or PC.)
The music he describes as “all about fusion” with elements of rock, pop, electric, and glam. The lyrics will offer hope about difficult times and inspiration to be true to oneself. He says, ”My record will be kind of a rock-pop-electronic-dance thing,” he said. “I don’t know how to describe it. I think it’s gonna take on a life of its own, as far as genre goes.”
The company 19 Entertainmnet has a history of taking the lead on breakout Idol artists’ debut albums, even when singers prefer to have more input. However, Lambert aims to co-write much of the material.
“There’s a way to take the glam rock of the ’70s and the classic rock of the ’70s and kind of modernize it. … I want it to be produced in a very very current, almost futuristic, way. So we’re going to come up with something really fresh,” he said adding that the songs will have a sexy dance vibe.”
He wants to include songs that “appeal to people that are going through a hard time or don’t believe in themselves.” This description recalls Lambert’s own description of life shortly before his run on American Idol. In a video released during the competition, Lambert explained that he realized that something was missing in his life. He said, “I thought, ‘Is this it? Is this my life?’” It was shortly after that when fellow cast members of “Wicked” talked the young start into trying out for American Idol.
He mentions that he wants his music to convey the liberation of “being comfortable in your own skin and that is being your own person.” He hopes his album conveys what he describes as “the spirit of being different, and how strong that can make you feel.”
